Jeremy Renner gives first interview since his accident, will attend Rennervations premiere

Jeremy Renner will make his first public appearance at next month’s Los Angeles premiere of Disney+’s Rennervations.

Jeremy Renner will make his first public appearance since his January 1st accident, stepping out for the premiere of his upcoming series Rennervations next month. The event is set to take place on April 11th, the day before the show comes to Disney+. He’s also sat for an interview with Diane Sawyer, and indeed seems to be on the mend. Check out the clip below:

Jeremy Renner has been keeping his fans in the know about the progress of his recovery, stemming from the New Year’s Day accident that left him with blunt chest trauma and 30 broken bones. According to THR, the laundry list of injuries included: “a broken face and eye socket, eight ribs broken in 14 places, as well as a broken right knee, left tibia, clavicle, right shoulder and ankles, along with a punctured lung and other intense injuries.” At the time, Renner was listed as being in critical but stable condition. Over the past few months, the actor has taken to social media to detail his recovery process, show appreciation for his team of doctors and promote his projects. Just this week, Renner posted a video that showed him on his feet in an anti-gravity machine, a tremendous goal that has opened the door for him to make the premiere of Rennervations in less than two weeks.

Jeremy Renner choosing this event as his first public outing since the accident shows how much passion he has for Rennervations. On the project, he said, “I’ve been on this journey for many years, and I started in my community by building vehicles for people in need. But a few years ago, I thought, how can I plus this up and create a bigger impact on a whole community – and that’s what this show does…This is one of my biggest passions and it’s a driving force in my recovery, and I can’t wait for the world to see it.” The four-part documentary series finds Renner “[traveling] the globe to reimagine decommissioned vehicles and rebuild them to serve a new purpose, such as turning a tour bus into a mobile music studio, a delivery truck into a mobile water treatment facility, a shuttle bus into a mobile recreation center, and a city bus into a mobile dance studio.”

Despite his injuries and setbacks, Jeremy Renner has continued to be the most vocal proponent for his projects and collaborators, ensuring the public doesn’t neglect them. Not only is Rennervations nearing its premiere, but season two of Paramount+’s Mayor of Kingstown–which he actively promoted on social media–just concluded. You can watch the full Diane Sawyer interview on ABC on April 6th, and it will stream the next day on Hulu.

Are you looking forward to Jeremy Renner returning to the public eye? How do you think his recovery is coming along?
